Hemant is a Deputy Director with Drewry Maritime Advisors and leads the ESG advisory team. He has more than 16 years of sailing experience, 10 years of port operations experience and 5 years of advisory project experience.

Profile

Hemant joined Drewry in 2019 with strong operational experience in shipping and the ports/terminals sector. He headed port operations at various ports, including eight years at a port in Singapore. He was also the operations head at the world’s biggest common-user cement terminal in Singapore. Hemant is passionate about improving port efficiency.

Since joining Drewry, Hemant has led a wide range of advisory assignments covering market due diligence, transaction advice, business plan appraisals as well as developing green shipping strategy and business strategy for shipping companies. He is passionate about green shipping and is also a member of the Global multi-stakeholders Green Curriculum Working Group for futureproof training of seafarers to handle green fuels.

Hemant is also the technical editor of Bulk Carrier Practice, by the Nautical Institute of UK, which is considered the bible of the industry. He is a Fellow, Nautical Institute, as well as a member of its technical committee.
