The client is an engineering consultancy specialising in oil and gas, mining and renewable energy.
The client was advising an Australian port on their long-term port development plan and approached Drewry to assess the development of vessel sizes for different classes of vessel.
To provide an analysis of current and future vessel sizes for Methylcyclohexane (MCH), toluene, ammonia, liquid hydrogen.
To provide current and future vessel size development of container ship.
To estimate the vessel size forecast of the Australian port (short and long-term).
This was a desktop study, gather, synthesising and analysing data collected from multiple sources, including but not limited to Drewry’s internal database, third-party platform and data provided by the target port.
Drewry identified suitable vessel sizes by analysing the trade growth, the historical fleet evolution, approval in principle in different shipping segments and ongoing technological advancement in shipping.
Drewry presented a detailed report outlining the forecasted vessel demand and vessel sizes for the required sectors.
